Las Vegas is certainly no stranger to providing brilliant steakhouse choices from the shimmering strip, right to the edge of the amber hues of Red Rock Canyon in Summerlin. SC Prime Steakhouse located in the Suncoast Hotel & Casino in the heart of Summerlin provides its guests a plethora of world class dishes in a classic steakhouse atmosphere.
After walking through the bustling casino, SC Prime’s elevator takes one up and into another worldly experience far different from the casino below. The large bar and lounge area are reminiscent of classical steakhouses from decades ago providing large u-shaped couches, high top tables and a long dark oak bar. Running a hand across its smooth surface, you can almost feel and hear stories of past guests who came before. The Prime Martini is a personal favorite with Ketel One Vodka or Hendricks Gin, blue cheese stuffed olives or a twist. Prime signature cocktails are refreshingly delightful- like the Lemon Drop featuring Stoli Citros, Cointreau and fresh lemon sour. Try heating things up with the Angry Cucumber- a blend of Herredura Silver, muddled cucumber, red pepper and fresh lime sour. The whiskey list is certainly worth exploring, especially the Lagavulin 16-year scotch whiskey which is sure to entice the need to linger and savor with every sip.
Entering the dining room, the starched white tablecloths and gleaming wine glasses beg you to take a seat and enjoy the panoramic view.First things first- the wine and cocktail list offer a little something for everyone. Begin with bubbly Domaine Chandon, ideal for prepping the palate for what is to come. Move on to the steakhouseCaesar Salad with hearts of romaine, hand shaved parmigianoreggiano, homemade herb croutons, and tangyCaesar dressing. Another tempting riff on a classic is the luscious Steakhouse Tomato salad with huge-sliced beefsteak tomatoessprinkled with point reyes blue cheese, red onion, fresh basil and drizzled with shallot vinaigrette.
The menu is diversified, withan enticing array of entrées from Oysters Rockefeller, Lobster Bisque and Prime Rib-exactly what any connoisseur would expect from a good Vegas steakhouse. A glass of Quintessa 2015 Red Blend from Rutherford affords sweet and smoky notes thatpair beautifully with the Bourbon Maple Bacon- pan roasted in barrel aged bourbon and topped with a maple glaze.Check off all the gastronomic boxes in one dish, by ordering the King Alaskan Crab Legs drawn in abath of butter and a choice of 1lb or 1/2lb.
